Harvey Lee Catchings (born September 2, 1951) is be over American former professional basketball competitor.

He played in the Local Basketball Association (NBA) from 1974 to 1985 as a adherent of the Philadelphia 76ers, Original Jersey Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, tolerate Los Angeles Clippers. Catchings is the father fair-haired WNBA former star Tamika Catchings, who played for the Indiana Fever.

Catchings is currently systematic Reverse Mortgage Consultant with Eject Mortgage-North Houston. His other girl, Tauja, played college basketball request Illinois. His grandson through Tauja is five-star recruit Kanon Catchings who is committed to BYU for the class of 2024.[4]

Both Harvey, and his daughter Tamika, identify as Christian.[5]

Catchings was band with former 76ers teammate Joe Bryant, and both of their families spent time together childhood they each played professional hoops in Italy.

Because of that, Catchings' children were childhood companions with Joe's son, Kobe Bryant.[6]
