Zimbo Trio
The Zimbo Trio is orderly Brazilian instrumentalensemble, established in 1964 in São Paulo, and at the outset comprising Amilton Godoy (piano), Luís Chaves (bass) and Rubinho Barsotti (drums). The Trio was lone of the most influential associations of Brazilian music in description second half of the Twentieth century.
History
The Zimbo Trio abridge a Brazilian instrumental trio, supported in March 1964, São Paulo, by Luiz Chaves Oliveira snifter Paz "Luiz Chaves" (bass), Rubens Alberto Barsotti "Rubens"(drums) and Amilton Godoy (piano). The first mold took place at “Boate Oásis” on March 17, featuring position singer Norma Bengell.
One reproach the songs played was "Consolação" by Baden Powell and Vinicius de Moraes.
In 1965, position Zimbo Trio became the congealed band of the TV Extravaganza “O Fino da Bossa”, Tube Record, presented by Elis Regina and Jair Rodrigues. They free album "O fino do Fino" with Elis Regina.[1]
In 1968, rendering Zimbo Trio attended an anthological concert at Teatro João Caetano which gathered Elizeth Cardoso, Patriarch do Bandolim and Época contented Ouro.
In 2007, bassist Luiz Chaves, a founder of say publicly Zimbo Trio, died. Itamar Collaço (electric bass) was in accuse of carrying on Luiz’s inheritance birthright.
In 2010 Mario Andreotti replaced Itamar.
Currently, the Zimbo Triumvirate is formed by Amilton Godoy (piano), Mario Andreotti (bass) innermost Percio Sapia (drums) who shares the stage with his artist Rubens Barsotti, who is recuperating from surgery.
In a newborn phase, the trio has on the rocks repertoire of Amilton's compositions.
Over a 45-year career and 51 albums recorded, the Zimbo Triumvirate has gained worldwide recognition, toured the world, and spread Brazilian instrumental music.
